Built for African Property Managers
Locci Realtors was born at Africa's Talking Real Estate Hackathon 2026 — a two-day sprint to solve the real problems Kenyan landlords face every day.
Mission
To make professional property management accessible to every landlord in Africa — from a single bedsitter to a large apartment complex.
Vision
A future where African landlords and tenants interact seamlessly through digital-first tools built for local payment systems and communication networks.
Values
Simplicity, reliability, and local-first thinking. We build for Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu — not as an afterthought, but as the primary market.
Our Story
The idea for Locci Realtors came from a simple frustration: why do Kenyan landlords still chase rent payments via WhatsApp and track leases on paper notebooks? With M-Pesa handling billions of shillings daily and Africa's Talking connecting millions of Kenyans via SMS, the infrastructure for modern property management was already there.
At the Africa's Talking Real Estate Hackathon in February 2026, our team set out to build a platform that would bring these pieces together. In 48 hours, we built the core of what is now Locci Realtors — M-Pesa STK Push rent collection, automated SMS notifications, and a clean dashboard that any landlord can use without training.
We chose SvelteKit's experimental remote functions for the backend, MongoDB Atlas for data, and Africa's Talking as our SMS backbone. The result is a platform that feels fast, works offline-first, and handles the quirks of Kenyan real estate natively — from county-level filtering to KES currency throughout.
Today, Locci is used by landlords managing single bedsitters in Eastleigh and large apartment blocks in Westlands. We are continuing to build — with an AI assistant already available for landlords, and a public listings page for tenants to search without signing up.
